Best Book Series for 5th Graders — Ever

By the time you hit the fifth grade, your world of books continues to expand. In those individuals who read daily, vocabulary grows. Regular reading exposes students to numerous writing styles and learn new ideas. Students become exposed to proper grammar and while looking at the words, their minds are able to comprehend and store the information. This is when tastes start to develop and students begin to have reading preferences.

When I was in the 5th Grade, I was into reading Judy Blume books. I had just been exposed to Tales of the Fourth Grade Nothing and when I read Tiger Eyes, I really started to "see" the scenes of the books in my mind. It was as if something clicked.  I could visualize the details, change them to suit my preferences, follow a story-line, and next thing I knew, I was hooked. I began to devour novels of all different types and sizes, deciding on favourite authors and even began to write some of my own ideas into stories for fun!

  1. I personally do not like judy blume books but I will not judge. I am more into books like warriors or harry potter because it is a good long read. I am also not a book worm wich means I do not read 24 7 🔰 I usually watch youtube or play video games.

    3. I like "Harry Potter" too! Because I love magic. It just makes me feel so excited when I think about magic. I like to watch YouTube and play video games as well but we all need to remember to play outside and enjoy the beautiful world we live in. 😀

  2. Personally, I like to read books that have magic, fantasy or survival books. I LOVED the read "Magnus Chase: The Sword Of Summer" by Rick Riordan. It was on Norse mythology and I thought it was very interesting! It was part of a short series. The other books were "The Ship Of The Dead" and "The Hammer Of Thor. The more I read the more hooked I got. In my opinion, everyone should `try reading books by this fantastic author!
I also enjoy the book "Survivors" by Erin Hunter which is part of a longer series. I have recently read the first book called "The Empty City". It was really great and I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series. If you were wondering, "Survivors" is all about dogs. Since I ABSOLUTELY LOVE DOGS you can see why I might like it.
Anyway I really like reading and if you don't, I would definitely recommend reading more!

    1. Sorry guys I made a few mistakes. I meant to press tab to make my paragraphs but I guess there was a glitch or something because once I published my comment, it went back to how it was before. So, here is the correct response:

    1. That's pretty cool! I have never heard of that book but it sounds interesting. I love reading but I'm not sure if I am a bookworm or not🔰. I also have never read "Judy Blume" before. It doesn't really sound like my kind of a read though. But that's just me!

  5. None of the books on the list I have read yet. One of the books i would like to read is "The City of Ember". It sounds like an amazing book and I can't wait to find out how Lina and Doon figure out how to get back to the earth's surface. Another book on the list I would like to read is "The Mysterious Benedict Society". It sounds like a thrilling read and someone suggested it to me, but I don't remember who.

So far my all time favourite read is "The Hunger Games". So far, I have only read one of the books in the series. My sister told about the series and said that it was a very good book series to read because it has different ways of how Katniss and Peeta survived in the capital both in the Qaurter Quel and in defeating the capital's president Snow.

  6. I have not read any of the books in this list. If I were to read one, it would be the "Unwanted" because -

I am actually hooked to a book series called "Warriors". The author is called Erin Hunter. She has also created my second favorite series of novels called "Bravelands". I definitely think that you could get hooked onto a book or series.

  7. My overall favourite book is "Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief. I like it because there is a lot of action and magic. The story line is great and I also like the author because he also wrote a lot of other great books like "The Magnus Chase".
I actually have not read any of the books on the list. I kind of want to read "Tales of The Fourth Grade Nothing" because I heard that it is really, really good. The other book I would like to read is called "The Red Pyramid". I have not heard of the book but I do know the author; he is one of my favourites. His name is Rick Riordan. Also, it sounds really good.

  8. The one book I have read from this selection is "Encyclopedia Brown". When I was younger, I really enjoyed reading the mysteries and trying to solve them before the book was done. Now I don't enjoy the "Encyclopedia Brown" series as much because I find that they are a much to of a short read for my liking. I have also tried reading "Anne of Green Gables". The old English was very hard to understand and it just did not make that much sense so I had to "desert" the book.
The book that I would like to possibly read is "My Side of the Mountain" because it sounds like a good book to read. It seems adventurous and also quite mysterious.
Personally,I love adventures, so I really enjoy the "Air Quest Adventures" series. They are about two siblings named Kate and Chad. Recently losing their mother because of a drunk driver means that they only have their fighter pilot father left. He decides to leave his job of working as a fighter pilot so he can be with Kate and Chad more. They decide to be a missionary team and have dangerous, life or death adventures. These books are one of my favourite series.

    2. Red Marshmallow,
I would suggest to write longer responses, if you can. This way readers get more information about what you are trying to say! I don't really get why you wrote: My favourite book ever is ... , because that doesn't give us any information about your favourite book. Maybe next time you can write a more detailed response so you can get more information in !

  10. I have read 'Anne of green gables'. It is a classic book and a very good pass-time.
I would like to read all of the books because one, I'm a total book worm and two, the covers look really cool.
My all-time favourite read is "Warriors Long Shadows". It is the fifth book of the third series, The Power of Three. This is my favourite read because first, it is full of action and suspense and second, Squirrel Flight admitted that she is not the main three characters' mother; which is a big deal! If you like these things, I suggest this book to anybody who likes this kind of stuff and if you have read all the series before the Power of Three.

  11. I have not read any of the books in the list except "Anne of Green Gables". It was so good that I read it twice. My favourite character was Anne. It was funny when Mrs. Roth was humiliating her and Anne yelled back at her. Then Mrs. Roth forgave Anne for her outburst. I would also like the read "The City Ember" because I like mystery and it sounds like it could be a good book.

The best read of all-time for me is, "Once in Future Geek". because it is about King Arthur and his life and how Stuart and Sophie save the world and pepperoni pizza.

If I were to read any others, it would be "Wildwood Chronicles" . This is because it looks cool and I like books about nature and stuff and it takes place in the woods.

My favourite book of all-time is "Warriors Ravenpaws Path". It is my favourite because it is very exciting and full of adventure and action. The best part was when Ravenpaw and fellow teammates in Thunderclan took back his home.

I just got into a new book series called "Battel Bugs". It's very intense. I like it because it has lots of war and it had lots of bugs. It's about a guy named Max that went to a different realm from his encyclopedia.

  16. From the list I have read the Anne of Green Gable series. It took me 8 days to read the series. Anne is a wonderful 11-year old looking for a bosem friend. She and Diana have a strong friendship and go on many adventures together. In the series there is 8 books: Anne of Green Gables, Anne of Avonlea, Anne of the Island, Anne of Windy Poplars, Anne's house of Dreams, Anne of Ingleside, Rainbow Valley and Rilla of Ingleside. If I could read one book from the list it would be Artemis Fowl. It sounds really intense and exciting.

My best all-time read is the entire "Harry Potter" series because J.K. Rowling knows the children that read these books can compare themselves to the characters in the series.

I like "Cirque Du Freak" because in the description of the book it said the book is funny and the title is intriguing because of the "Freak" part.

My favourite books of all-time are "The Red-Headed League" and "Escape from Mr. Lemoncello's Library".😊

I've also read "Tales of the Fourth Grade Nothing".I liked it because when the smaller boy, Fudge, thought he could fly, he lost a few teeth trying it.
